Description:
The Böhler FOX DMO Ti stick electrode is a core wire alloyed electrode with a rutile coating. The weld metal of this electrode type, which corresponds to type 0.5Mo, exhibits a microstructure of acicular ferrite and bainite. Thanks to its advantageous mechanical properties, it is suitable for use both in the as-welded condition and after heat treatment. This electrode is used in a wide range of welding applications, from joining similar heat-resistant steels and cast steel to joining high-strength structural, fine-grained, and pipeline steels. The stick electrode is particularly well suited for welding workpieces with wall thicknesses up to 30 mm and for welding root passes. Böhler FOX DMO Ti is approved for long-term use at temperatures up to 550°C. The special coating of this electrode, which is matched to the core wire, is characterized by excellent slag detachability and can be used with both direct and alternating current.

Special Notes
It is important to adjust preheating, interpass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment according to the requirements of the base material. As a general guideline, preheating of 100 to 250ºC can be recommended, with the exact temperature potentially depending on the workpiece thickness. Typical temperatures for post-weld heat treatment are in the range of 530-620ºC.
