Electrode with a thick-coated, basic covering for build-up welding with medium hardness, where the machined surface should still be machinable. It shows good weldability in constrained positions and is free of cracks and pores. This electrode is particularly suitable for applying hard materials to resist sliding wear (e.g., on guide rails), impact wear (e.g., on cams), and rolling wear (e.g., on impellers and railway tracks). Typical applications include use in rails, switches, frogs, as well as wear parts such as rope sheaves, turases, track rollers, sole plates, support rollers of tracked vehicles, wheel flanges, and chain links.
